There were 2 farmers. Both were desperate for rain and both prayed to God. But only one of them went to prepare his field. Now, which of them had faith?

1 Samuel 17 (NIV)
4
A champion named Goliath, who was from Gath, came out of the Philistine camp. He was over nine feet [a] tall. 5 He had a bronze helmet on his head and wore a coat of scale armor of bronze weighing five thousand shekels [b] ; 6 on his legs he wore bronze greaves, and a bronze javelin was slung on his back. 7 His spear shaft was like a weaver’s rod, and its iron point weighed six hundred shekels. [c] His shield bearer went ahead of him.

8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, Why do you come out and line up for battle? Am I not a Philistine, and are you not the servants of Saul? Choose a man and have him come down to me.

32 David said to Saul, “Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him.”

33 Saul replied, “You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy, and he has been a fighting man from his youth.”

41 Meanwhile, the Philistine, with his shield bearer in front of him, kept coming closer to David. 42 He looked David over and saw that he was only a boy, ruddy and handsome, and he despised him.

45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

Rev 3 (NIV)
7“To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. 8I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

I want to remember this last week. This four days. Regardless wahtever the restults. I want to give my best for God. I want to glorify his name through this period of my life. Its not about how much i win. It is about how much i have lived; Many have life but few lived it, and even fewer lived it to the fullest; How much i have lived for God is the one true important thing that count. I don’t want to remember this period where i have to fight with the giants in my life and have not gave my best, and even give up before trying. But i would want to remember it as a time where I give my best, like how i have always proclaimed!

This is my life mission (not just as the church puts it but how i realise it sums up my reason for BEING): To build strong and biblical people to plant strong and biblical churches in Sinapore and all over the world, in MY lifetime.

Its difficult to give my best, to take courage to even stand up and say that “Giant, i’ll challenge you to a fight” you see, David is betting his life on it, if he screws up he’d probably be dead. But let this one thing keep me from beliving

Matthew 19:26 (NIV)
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Enough said.. Lets get ready to play the game.. and well, win it!!

My ministry

October 11, 2008

How? I’m afraid that I would focus too much on studying that I neglect my
Ministry!

But Joseph, studies is your ministry. Your ministry is your life.

This makes so much sense when I read it today.

o One who really say “I want to change the world. I want to live for it, die for it and

see it come to pass in my life.” Invariably, a person who believes that God’s vision is

his vision.

o One who loves God. Not a lukewarm Christian who loves the world a little, loves

Jesus a little and the church a little. He is the mover and shaker of the world.

o One who wants to make his life count. Someone who is focused on finishing the

race and bent on saving souls and bringing them to the Final Day. It is not how you

start but how you end that counts.

o One who takes personal responsibility to the Great Commission and is going to

spend his life to get it done.

o One who is wholeheartedly sold out (like Paul) to Christ.

Life..

October 8, 2008

Life is a weird concept. Its process can be tiring/fruitful. A journey of self discovery or a torturous mundane chore. Life is full of perspective. And ofter, it is complicated as one have to take on perspecitve of different kind, in different circumstances, with different people.

The world is big and we have a limited life span. This limits the thigns we can do and we are forced to make choices in our life. Whats the best decision in life, the best opportunity cost? It depends on our perspective, i guess.

Since life is short, I guess most of us would want to get the most out of it. Depending on our personality, character… We have different goals. But, at its fundementals, this goals are just to fulfill men’s desire of being satisfied. And there’s nothing wrong with being happy and all, but the biggest problem is that people do not know what they want.

“Chasing after the wind” is what many people in this world have fallen into. Instead of being in a rat race, we should be contented. No, that does not mean that we should not pursue dreams. Dream big! For the first step to success is to take risk; have faith and just wack! But it means that we need to be glad. We need to believe that this (this moment, this particular chapter of your life) is the best place to be.

There’s is not a definet meaning of life that everyone believes in. But well, for me i believe that the only thing worth living for has to be something eternal. Something that would not fade away through time. I believe that there is so much more to life then our own interest. Truly, what is not worth dying for, is not worth livng for.

hmm so what have YOU been doing with your life?

Seriously, this is fast…
